Unity Candle Ceremonies

Candles are popular during wedding ceremonies and visually declare the bride and groom a couple, long before the first kiss. How candles are integrated into a ceremony
A unity candle set, is comprised of four parts.
1) The metallic base
2) Two taper candles
3) one large unity candle.
During the first part of the ceremony, only the taper candles are lit. At a predetermined point during the service, the two flames are used to light the unity candle and the bride and groom extinguish the tapers. For the remainder of the service only the unity candle is lit.

The first Act As Husband & Wife
The act of taking two lit candles, one representing the individual life of the bride and one representing the individual life of the groom, and combining the flames to light a third candle, which signals the beginning of the individuals lives as a couple, is used in the wedding ceremonies to further "bond" the couple.
